Interview

Last week, as I was walking down Haugesund High Street I was aproached by a young man. He said he worked for Haugesunds Avis (the newspaper) and would like to ask me a few questions. Well, I figured why not, so I answered his questions. On CYCLING! He scribbled down my answers, was a bit apprehensive about my name (which turned out to be easy enough) and took my photo.

I had forgotten all about it, thinking there were probably loads of people he had interviewed. Until yesterday morning my team leader told me I was in the newspaper. Which in turn lead to me having to buy the newspaper to see it! Which I did of course, because I am nothing if not vain.

As you can see I am the one at the far right. Basically it's a section in the paper dealing with '5 on the street' and this week's topic was what it's like to be a cyclist in Haugesund. My answer was that I don't own a bike, but there are loads of bikes around {more than I expected, but he never wrote that down, probably didn't fit}. It looks great, but more should actually have lights on their bikes {since it's quite dangerous not having lights}.

So, there you have it. Another stab at fame!

  1. Wow, you are getting a celebrity, lol ! Of course as a Dutch you are specialist in bikes ! Since I have a son living in Amsterdam where all families own at least two to five bikes of all kinds to carry kids, food, garbage etc, I am allergic to bicycles, because they run you over from all sides ! They are very aggressive and don't respect any rules, they are the kings even on the sidewalks !
